Overview

In this session, we bring together a diverse panel of experts to give you more insights and tips on preparing yourself and remaining employable for tomorrow's careers, the type of skills to have, and the varied opportunities in Deep Tech.

As the world inches closer to a digital, innovation-driven economy, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other Deep Technologies will disrupt industries and, consequentially, the workforce. This is further emphasised during the Singapore Budget 2021 when Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister for Finance, Mr Heng Swee Keat highlighted the importance of grooming leaders in Deep Tech areas as Singapore heads into a more technologically intensive and innovation-driven economy.

As such, technologies like automation and robots will eventually take over manual and redundant tasks and hasten traditional industries' transformation. On the other hand, value-adding skills, such as innovation, supervision, emotional intelligence, and creativity that cannot be automated, are increasingly becoming crucial and valuable to future workforce roles, especially in emerging industries like Deep Tech. However, based on a survey conducted by Forbes Insights and Deloitte, only 25% of 1,600+ executives showed high confidence that the current workforce has the right skill sets needed for the future.

In this session, we bring together a diverse panel of experts to give you more insights and tips on preparing yourself and remaining employable for tomorrow's careers, the type of skills to have, and the varied opportunities in Deep Tech.

This event supports New Frontier 2021, SGInnovate's exclusive showcase of Deep Tech apprenticeships, full-time roles and workshops in exciting fields such as AI, Cybersecurity and Software Development. Happening on 10 April 2021, you can look forward to panel discussions with tech leaders and startup founders, who will share valuable insights on emerging job trends across various industries, and help you uncover exciting new career opportunities. Mark your calendars!
