Overview
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) are going to turn the business world upside down. Inspired by the birth of blockchain in 2009, the DAO system was created as a revolutionary system for financial services and hailed as an “ultimate combination of capitalism and progressivism”.
Course Description & Learning Outcomes
In this module, participants will deepen their understanding about DAO as well as its applications. They will also learn about the traits of a DAO, the usage of NFTs, how they are inherently governed, and the future of this technology. At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to: - Understand how DAOs, DEX and NFTs are involved in the Web 3.0 space - Discover the landscape of the NFT marketplace and understand the demand and supply surrounding it - Understand the problems a DAO system aims to address (principal-agent dilemma) - Explore the benefits and downsides of the DAO in organisations - Define the use of DAO in real-world scenarios, i.e., investment, charity, fundraising, borrowing, buying NFTs, etc. - Learn how a DAO is centrally governed by key stakeholders in real-world scenarios - Develop innovative solutions to existing organisational limitations using DAO
