Overview

At near 85 years old, Singaporeans haveone of the highest life expectancies in the world. For society as a whole, longevity can bring continued opportunities and contributions. However, this is highly dependant on the health of the citizens. An ageing and unhealthy population will burden the country's healthcare system and its economy.

As the age-old adage goes, prevention is better than cure. Health Tech is essential and leading the front of better prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and diseases. These technologies encompass both physical and mental health. However, it is difficult to bring these technologies and research from the laboratory to the patient.

Discover what it takes to innovate in healthcare from the perspectives of Professor Lim Chwee Teck, Director of the Institute of Health Innovation & Technology at NUS and an innovator and serial entrepreneur who has co-founded six startups.
