Overview

One of the key themes of 2019 was the rise of Decentralised Finance (DeFi), a new type of finance that runs on trustless protocols and without the need for financial intermediaries.

Alongside, many central banks are considering whether to issue a new form of electronic money that would be accessible to the public. This new form is usually called a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

The IEEE Singapore Blockchain Group, in partnership with SGInnovate, brings industry experts to share their views on the impact to financial systems in an era of fast-growing DeFi and CBDC.
