Speaker's Profile:

Clinical Associate Professor (Cl A/Prof) Goh Bee Tin is Chief Executive Officer at the National Dental Centre of Singapore (NDCS),and also Academic Chair in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Oral Health Academic Clinical Program. She obtained a PhD in 2009 from Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands for her novel research work on modular endoprosthesis for mandibular reconstruction. She received the Osteopore Innovation Award for her work in clinical tissue engineering and the SingHealth GCEO Outstanding Clinician Researcher Award for her contributions to research at the NDCS. Dr Goh is also appointed Clinical Associate Professor at the NUS Dental Faculty and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Nanyang Technological University. CI A/Prof Goh is active in teaching and training postgraduate students. Her research interests include bone tissue engineering and mandibular reconstruction.

Lim Yujing is the Chief Executive Officer & Chief Technology Officer at Osteopore, a global medical device company that adopted 3D printing technology to manufacture bioresorbable scaffolds for bone regeneration. He has spent more than a decade in Osteopore, observing growth from a 2-man team to an organisation with offices in Singapore, Australia, and South Korea. Osteopore has ~20 years and more than 140,000 successful examples of clinical history in bone regeneration. Dr Lim has been with the organisation for more than a decade, and started leading the organisation since July 2023. Prior to that, he guided the company through successful regulatory and quality milestones such as ISO 13485, Korea GMP audits and FDA inspections; CE Marking. He also led product expansion initiatives, along with maintaining control over the company’s overall operational effectiveness.

Dr Yue Weng Cheu is a general dentist. He obtained his BDS from the National University of Singapore and is a recipient of the Pierre Fauchard Academy Foundation Annual Scholarship Award. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and holds the MJDF of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has a special interest in the management of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD) and completed two mini-residencies in Dental Sleep Medicine at Tufts University, USA. He pioneered the concept of Linguadontics, linking tongue health to overall well-being. For the past 19 years he has used clear aligner systems in his myofunctional orthodontic treatment. Dr Yue delivered a TEDxSingapore talk in 2017 and lectures internationally. He teaches on the MSc Laser Dentistry programme at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Rome, and speaks on the dentist's role in managing sleep-related breathing disorders at local and international meetings.

Dr Yessi is a general dentist. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Airlangga University in Surabaya, Indonesia in 2010. After completing her studies, Dr. Yessi embarked on a career journey as a general practitioner in her private practice focusing on general dentistry, endodontics, esthetic makeovers, and dental implants. She is now based in Singapore and has been with GC Asia as Product Manager for more than 5 years. In her role, she is actively involved in research collaborations with local and regional key universities. GC is widely recognized as a global leader in dental care with a strong commitment to Research & Development (R&D) and Evidence-Based Dentistry (EBD) to create high quality products. The company has longstanding history of successful research commercialization with universities in Australia and Japan, especially in preventive and biomaterial area.

Moderator's Profile:

Dr. Yu Na serves as a Principal Investigator and Senior Dental Surgeon at the National Dental Centre Singapore, as well as an Assistant Professor in the Oral Health Academic Clinical Program at DUKE-NUS Medical School. Notably, Dr. Yu is the first and only dentist in Singapore to be awarded the Clinician-Scientist Award by the Singapore National Medical Research Council. She has pioneered several innovative projects in digital dentistry, including leading the use of digital workflow and metal printing technology in clinical trials for removable partial denture (RPD) frameworks, which have since been successfully adopted in National Dental Centre Singapore and the community private dentists. Her research primarily revolves around advancing digital workflows for in clinical procedures, such as digital diagnostics, treatment planning, 3D printing of dental appliances, novel biomaterials, and regenerative dental techniques.

Marco is a dentist graduated by the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil where he concluded his diploma in Public Health, Master in Public Health and PhD in Epidemiology. In 2018 he took a position as a Professor of Dental and Oral Health Research, School of Dentistry and Oral Health, Griffith University, Australia. In 2022, he was appointed Director, Research at National Dental Centre Singapore. Marco is a founder member of the International Centre for Oral Health Inequalities Research and Policy (ICOHIRP) based at University College London, United Kingdom, a member of the Global Burden of Metabolic Risk Factors for Chronic Diseases Collaboration, the deputy chair of the Expert Working Group for Fluoride of the Australian and New Zealand Nutrient Reference Values for Fluoride, a member of the Oral Health Expert Group of the Australian Burden of Diseases 2011 Study, a member of the Australia Dental Association Oral Health Tracker, and a member of The Lancet Commission on Global Oral Health.

Usha Viswanathen joined Temasek Foundation in 2024 where she leads the Health & Well-being team. Usha was most previously with Integrated Nutrition Solutions Pte. Ltd. where she was the Global Health and Nutrition Director responsible for business development, implementing strategic plans, as well as developing and nurturing partnerships with food start-ups. She was also previously the Global Nutrition Director at Danone Specialized Nutrition Division where was responsible for Research & Innovation, as well as Medical & Scientific affairs. Usha holds a Masters in Human Nutrition from Deakin University, Australia.

Moderator's Profile:

Dr Bien Lai is the current head and senior consultant of the NDCS Paediatric Dentistry Unit. She graduated from the NUS Faculty of Dentistry in 2006 with multiple academic and service awards consistently through dental school years. She was awarded the MOH Overseas Scholarship for Paediatric Dentistry Specialty training in 2008, was board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2012, and obtained dental specialty accreditation in Singapore in 2014. Dr Lai continues to strive towards excellence in all areas – admin, clinical, education and research, as evident by the multiple external/internal appointments and awards. Her research interest includes infant oral health, dental caries, preventive dentistry and population health, children with special healthcare needs.
