Overview
Blockchain technology first made its public debut in 2008 through a white paper released by Satoshi Nakamoto. Since then, an entire ecosystem of decentralized applications: from prediction markets to identity management, games to gold-backed digital tokens, smart contracts to health records, has arisen from this general-purpose blockchain architecture. Blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Cosmos, Tezos and NEO promise to expand the scope and capabilities of this blockchain-based, tokenized decentralized web. Blockchain enables for consensus in large, public networks and a new architecture for raising capital. How will the decentralized web look like by the end of 2018 and 2023? And how would blockchain potentially impact entire industries in the years to come?
SGInnovate and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) are co-hosting this session for parties to come together to both learn more about the transformative potential of Blockchain and its impact on the digital economy. IMDA will also share more about its plans for a Blockchain Challenge for further exploration.
This event is held in conjunction with De/Centralize, Singapore's premier blockchain conference bringing together the world's leading blockchain minds, investors and government representatives on 5-6 April 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands. Please visit www.decentralize.sg for more thought leadership conversations on the future of blockchain technology and its commercial viability.
