Join SGInnovate as we present experts from the Netherlands – on blockchain pilot projects by the Dutch Government, the insights from these pilots, and Singapore-Netherlands collaboration.

Blockchain technology is heralded as the next chapter of the information and network society and is perceived to have an enormous impact on our economy, trade and the public sector. Blockchain provides the framework for governments to reduce fraud, corruption, error and the cost of paper-intensive processes. It has the potential to redefine the relationship between the government and the citizen in terms of data sharing, transparency and trust.

Speakers:

Ms. Marloes Pomp
Blockchain Dutch Government

Marloes will share an overview of blockchain projects by the Dutch Government and the lessons learned so far. She will also talk about the approach and ambition of the Dutch Blockchain Coalition.

Marloes is the project leader of 30 blockchain projects within the Dutch Government and has done several rounds with pilots in the Netherlands. She is now helping the pilots reach the next level and building an international network with governments working on blockchain.

BLOCKTEST The first Blockchain project in Singapore in close collaboration with the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) together with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Our focus is to define the first steps towards Blockchain Security-by-Design. As we all know, blockchain has a tremendous potential, and a the same time an infinite list of security incidents.

During the presentation, Dr. Mark van Staalduinen will share our background, our vision and the first results since the project started October 2017.

Mark received his MSc in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology (DUT) in 2003, and his PhD from DUT's Department of Information and Communication Theory in 2010. Mark has been employed by TNO since 2007. Since January 2016, he holds a position in Singapore to strengthen international partnerships.
