BE Fellows is designed to tackle early-stage barriers to climate technology innovation, accelerating discovery and increasing the number of projects and companies working toward commercialization. By providing innovators with research funding and hands-on support, our program ensures projects have the resources and community they need to advance to the next stages of development.

Why Southeast Asia?
In April 2024, Breakthrough Energy Fellows established a regional hub in Southeast Asia in partnership with Temasek and Enterprise Singapore. BE Fellows – SEA, to be headquartered in Singapore, will provide funding, support, mentorship, and networking opportunities for researchers, scientists, engineers, and technology innovators across the region. This will enable our Fellows to overcome early-stage barriers and advance promising climate solutions in Southeast Asia and beyond.
Who should apply?
We’re looking for:
Early stage (~TRL 1-4) climatetech companies
Potential to reduce GHG emissions by at least 500 million tons/year at scale
Raised less than ~$2M in dilutive funding
High impact potential, with need for significant technical derisking
