Overview
This micro-credential focuses on essential cloud computing knowledge and skills, including cloud service models, deployment methods, and application development. It covers cloud architecture, big data analytics, data storage, networking, auto scaling, microservices, and serverless architectures.
Learners will also master cloud security, including cybersecurity technologies and data protection techniques.
The micro-credential combines online and in-person learning, with lab sessions using AWS, quizzes, and hands-on projects. By the end of the course, you'll be equipped to design secure, scalable, and flexible cloud solutions.
This micro-credential is part of the CSM Pathway in Applied Computing, offered by SIT.
Course Description & Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the micro-credential, you will be able to:
Construct applications by developing and deploying containerised solutions, virtual machines, serverless functions, and utilising various virtualisation technologies
Develop cloud-based web applications using cloud instances and database services on public cloud infrastructure
Design and develop elastic web services that can adapt to dynamic workload with auto load balancing and dynamic scaling
Configure and deploy Hadoop/Spark and artificial intelligence (AI) for data analytics in the cloud
Protect cloud applications by securing network environments and data access (both at rest and in transit) in the cloud
Recommended Prerequisites
There is no specific assumed knowledge for this micro-credential. However, having at least one year of experience in computer architecture, operating systems and a general understanding of computing applications, web services, and interfaces is preferable.
