John Friedman, Asia Director, AgFunder
John Friedman

John is the Asia Director of AgFunder leading strategy, investment, and fundraising activities across the region for one of the world's leading agrifoodtech VC firms. Prior to joining AgFunder, John spent over a decade in investment banking in Southeast Asia focused on emerging market opportunities, and is an advocate for a more impact-focused approach to capital allocation. In addition to his roles at AgFunder, John is an angel investor in several ventures ranging from precision farming to alternative proteins. Originally from Hawaii, John studied in the UK, and is a graduate of Cornell University. He now lives in Singapore with his wife and children.

Rebecca Sharpe

Rebecca, Founder and Director of Better Earth Ventures, has 17+ years of experience in innovation. She has supported 150+ agrifoodtech companies across 25+ countries from Singapore, and led 12 cross-border agrifoodtech programs spanning the UK, Singapore and Southeast Asia, Japan and Australia. Rebecca has worked with top accelerators, investors, and corporates to commercialize and scale solutions in everything from yield optimization, climate-resilient crops, and supply chain transparency. She previously led a UK university incubator (top 5 for fundraising) and drove corporate innovation with multiple agencies within the Singapore government. Rebecca specializes in creating innovation-centric ecosystems, and cross-border collaborations in the sustainability space.
