Overview
Communities are networks with shared ideals or demographics, where people build relationships and ideas rather than just meet and say goodbye. But while bringing people with common interests together might be easy, how do you sustain the relationships and keep them coming back for more? Well, through data of course!
In order to succeed in building meaningful communities, data plays an important aspect in what we do, how we do, and how decisions are made. Because while the engagement must feel organic, the tactics will really need to be very deliberate and data is the key.
At this session, we bring together successful community builders to discuss the importance of data in community building, and to share their tips and tricks on utilising the data.

Pavel Bulowski, Co-Founder, Meiro and Co-Founder, SheLovesData
Pavel Bulowski, who is currently based in Jakarta is Co-Founder and COO of Meiro, a Singapore-based tech startup that transforms how large organisations manage and activate customer data. Pavel has been in Asia for 8 years and has a background in e-commerce and digital analytics. Besides Meiro, Pavel also co-founded and helps to run the non-profit movement SheLovesData which enables women to enter the space of data analytics and tech.
Gabriela Zahoranska, Marketing Manager and Workshops Producer, General Assembly
Gabriela is Marketing Manager and Workshops Producer at General Assembly Singapore (GA). She joined GA in September 2017 as she is able to combine her three passions in the work that she does at GA education, technology and women's empowerment.
Before GA, Gabriela worked in marketing and partnerships in the technology industry. Over the past six years, she has worked for Fortune 500 corporations as well as early stage startups in San Francisco, London, Bratislava, and as a digital nomad across APAC. Through events, career festivals and workshops, Gabriela hopes to encourage and empower people to step into the world of tech.
Tuan Nguyen, Deputy Director, Community, SGInnovate
Tuan leads the Community team at SGInnovate, a Singapore Government owned organisation that invests in and helps build deep tech startups.Within two years, Tuan has initiated collaborations with over 60 corporate and international partners, and established SGInnovate as a leading deep tech champion and go-to partner in Singapore and the region, with a community of more than 25,000 startups, investors, corporate innovators, researchers and academics, government and international partners.
Tuan has also helped conceptualise and curate the signature Deep Tech Summit, a best-in-class conference that convenes thought leaders and industry pioneers from around the world to discuss the impact of frontier technologies such as AI in our future economy and society.

An avid data advocate, Jana headed teams and country operations at Estee Lauder, Sybase, Sas, Socialbakers, and Keboola in Europe and Asia Pacific in the past 25 years. In Singapore, she co-founded Customer Data Platform tech start-up Meiro and not-for-profit movement SheLovesData.
