Overview
In line with the principles to promote Fairness, Ethics, Accountability and Transparency (FEAT) in the use of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA) in Singapore's financial sector, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), SGInnovate and EY are co-presenting an Expert Series where we bring together global thought leaders, financial institutions and AIDA experts to explore ways firms can recalibrate their current frameworks to realign with the FEAT principles in providing financial products and services.

Speaker's Profile:
Kathy Baxter, Architect, Ethical AI Practice, SalesForce
As an Architect of Ethical AI Practice at Salesforce, Kathy develops research-informed best practice to educate Salesforce employees, customers, and the industry on the development of responsible AI. She collaborates and partners with external AI and ethics experts to continuously evolve Salesforce policies, practices, and products. Prior to Salesforce, she worked at Google, eBay, and Oracle in User Experience Research. She received her MS in Engineering Psychology and BS in Applied Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. The second edition of her book, "Understanding your users," was published in May 2015. You can read about her current research at einstein.ai/ethics.
Shaun Tan, Director - Corporate, External and Legal Affairs, Microsoft
Shaun is Microsoft Singapore's Director for Corporate, External and Legal Affairs. In this role, Shaun provides overall public policy, legal and compliance leadership to the company, and is responsible for government affairs counsel to the Singapore operations.
In a world undergoing a rapid digital transformation, AI governance, data policies and privacy regulation are evolving as fast as the rate of technological change, and Shaun believes that navigating the complex legislative, regulatory and public policy environments we live in, will be crucial to the success of any organization.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Shaun was the Legal and Compliance Leader for Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam in Medtronic, one of the world's largest medical device companies. Earlier on in his career, Shaun practised law in Singapore with a focus on corporate finance, M&A and securities regulation, before gaining in-house legal experience in financial services and clinical research.
