FALLING WALLS LAB IS COMING TO SINGAPORE! Which wall will your research break? Pitch your innovative idea in just three minutes and showcase a breakthrough that creates a positive impact on science and society.
Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition and networking forum that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students and early-career professionals.
The programme provides a stage for participants to share breakthrough ideas on a local and global scale, develop their communication skills, foster collaboration and create a community of changemakers. Participants are given the opportunity to present their impactful ideas to peers, a high-calibre jury of experts from academia and industry, and the public.
Falling Walls Lab is organised by the Falling Walls Foundation and generously funded by Berlin’s Natural History Museum (global finale), Google and Springer Nature (international Labs). It is supported by the Sartorius, the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The international Falling Walls Lab network includes renowned academic institutions from over 50 countries, such as ETH Zürich, Tohoku University, and the University of Cape Town. ELIGIBILITY
You must be 18 years or older when submitting your application. You must fulfil at least one of the following formal requirements:
You are currently enrolled in a university
You are currently a postdoc
You received a Bachelor’s degree no more than 10 years ago
You received a Master’s degree no more than 7 years ago
You received a PhD no more than 5 years ago
*An MD (medical degree excluding a doctoral dissertation) is considered equivalent to a Master’s degree. A Dr. med. (medical degree including a doctoral dissertation) is considered equivalent to a PhD. The diversity of academic degrees worldwide is recognised. The application deadline is set for the 31 July 2024.
We will contact all applicants within two weeks after the application period closes to provide an update on their status. Shortlisted candidates will be required to present to a jury on 4 September 2024.
