Overview

SGInnovate's landscape report, now in its third year, encompasses analysis on companies in the pre-Seed to Series A stages across four key verticals. This event specifically focuses on the Health & Biomedical Sciences vertical, with target audience including but not limited to local biomedtech start-ups and public sector scientists/clinicians/tech transfer officers in the community. A key component of the event will be a panel discussion on looking back on the past trends and emerging technologies, and foresighting strategies or hotspots for the next five years. This will draw on the recently released SGInnovate landscape report and panelists' experience/expertise.

Supported by a strong commitment to Credo-based leadership, Sharon is a trusted business strategist and collaborator, known for driving innovation strategy with a focus on agility and a caring mindset. She manages the portfolio of JLABS, collaborates with internal and external business partners across multiple sectors, and drives high-quality company sourcing from innovation hotspots across Asia Pacific.

Stephen Sunderland, Managing Partner APAC & Head of SE Asia Healthcare and Life Science, L.E.K. Consulting
Stephen Sunderland

Stephen leads L.E.K.’s Healthcare and Life Science in SE Asia. For more than two decades he has advised on growth investments as well as various forms of partnering and M&A. He has advised some of the largest and most complex multinational healthcare organizations in the world, as well as investors, government organizations, industry advocacy groups and innovative startups. Stephen holds a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge; he joined L.E.K. in Europe, and has supported L.E.K.’s growth in Asia since 2005.

Dr Yingmin Wang, Director, MedTech, ClavystBio
Dr Yingmin Wang

Yingmin is fascinated by the intersection of science, business and social impact, a passion which fuels her work in investment and venture building at ClavystBio. Yingmin’s experience spans R&D, ventures and operations in hi-tech sectors such as life sciences, agrifood and semiconductors. She started her career as a research scientist at A*STAR before transitioning into business roles, first in new business development and new ventures at the Singapore Economic Development Board and most recently at Applied Materials where she led the South East Asia Regional Office and CTO’s satellite office in Singapore as Chief of Staff to the Regional President. Yingmin attained her PhD in Bioengineering from the California Institute of Technology, USA, and BSc in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, USA.

Nikita Gupta, Manager, Corporate Engagement (Investments), SGInnovate
Nikita Gupta

Nikita has a keen focus on translating cutting-edge research into practical applications and identifying early business opportunities in the Healthcare domain. As a Corporate Engagement Manager (Investments) at SGInnovate, she is responsible for innovation projects with large corporations, bridging the gap between unmet needs and novel startups. She began her career as an Oncology research scientist at the National University of Singapore (NUS)/Cancer Science Institute after attaining her BSc in Life Sciences from NUS. During her time there, she published papers on cancer therapeutics, reflecting her passion for advancing scientific knowledge. In fostering a collaborative environment for emerging technologies, she drove the launch of "The 2023 Singapore Early-Stage Emerging Tech Startups Landscape Report," which offers an overview of trends in the ecosystem across various verticals.
