The data and AI job market in Singapore has been impacted in recent months by the economic slowdown and tech layoffs. This has impacted many talented data and AI professionals in Singapore. Simultaneously, there has been a massive surge in how AI is reshaping the technological landscape across industries in large part because of Gen AI. Both companies and candidates find themselves at a crossroads. To help candidates navigate the data and AI talent landscape in Singapore, this event has been set up to:

  • Build Community: Foster networking and relationships among data and AI professionals.

  • Empower Young Professionals: Provide takeaways for career growth.

  • Support Those Impacted: Assist data, analytics, and AI professionals affected by layoffs.

Sachin Tonk

Sachin Tonk is the Deputy Chief Data Officer at GovTech (Government Technology Agency) with over 20 years of data and analytics leadership experience across industries including banking, consulting and government. Sachin has an outstanding track record in data analytics, business intelligence, governance, migration and architecture with proven abilities in leading high-performing teams across geographies including Singapore, India, the UK and the Middle East. Sachin enjoys mentoring young data professionals and he is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore teaching a Master of Business Analytics module titled “Transforming Organisations with Data Storytelling”.

Joel Azariah

Joel Azariah is the data, analytics and AI practice lead at TENTEN Partners with over 15 years of international recruitment experience across Singapore, Hong Kong and India. Joel has an extensive track record of senior placements within data science, AI, data strategy and data architecture across banking, insurance, healthtech and commodities trading. By providing a bespoke, transparent and knowledge driven service to candidates and clients, Joel has developed a reputation for trustworthiness, empathy and integrity. This has enabled him to successfully establish and grow specialist insurance, technology, data and AI focused recruitment businesses in Singapore, Hong Kong and India.

JQ - Jiaquan (Kia-khing)

A Singaporean by birth, JQ has been a digital nomad-traveller during recent times, where his clientele has him hovering between the Asia Pacific and the Americas. After completing his military service in Singapore, JQ ventured into the defence industry and was involved with marketing and client services for defence-related projects. Upon conclusion of a landmark deal with the US Marines Corps, JQ left for the US to complete an executive program at Harvard Kennedy School. He later joined Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs and was involved with the angel investing community with AngelCentral. Pursued mass communications for his undergraduate studies, JQ is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and Society of Professional Journalists. JQ also has a keen eye for street photography, especially subjects related to Singapore’s rich culture.

Juliana Lim

Juliana as Executive Director – Talent at SGInnovate, tackles tech talent challenges. She leads talent development, connecting startups and talent with resources via the Deep Tech Central strategy. Her team has connected nearly 20,000 talents with Deep Tech startups, focusing on building new pipelines, increasing engagement, and attracting talent. They launched Summation, Singapore’s first Deep Tech-focused apprenticeship initiative, providing STEM talent with practical experience in AI, machine learning, and blockchain. Previously, Juliana led teams across the Human Resource function in organisations such as SP Group, NTUC First Campus (NFC), the National Heritage Board, Central Provident Fund Board and the Ministry of Education. Her experience spans areas including talent attrition, learning and development. She holds a Bachelor of Economics (1st Class Hons) from Murdoch University and a Masters in Strategic Human Resource Management from the University of New South Wales.
