Overview
Quantum computing offers transformative potential by enabling faster, more accurate, and innovative solutions across a wide variety of industries. Quantum computing also creates a significant threat challenging the security of many current encryption methods we rely upon for digital trust. In this session we will review the state of the quantum computing landscape and the potential on impact cryptography we rely upon for digital trust. We will also explore the requirements for transitioning to a quantum safe future looking across technological, business and regulatory factors crucial for a successful migration program. The quantum future is approaching rapidly, and the time to prepare is now.

John Buselli, Offering Manager - IBM Quantum, IBM
John Buselli is an Offering Manager for IBM Research currently focused on the development and delivery of IBM’s Quantum Safe Program. In this role he oversees customer facing programs, market development and supports product strategy. Since joining IBM Research in 2015, John has focused on cyber security, confidential computing, privacy enhancing technologies, data governance and securing AI Analytic initiatives. He previously led a global team in IBM tasked with building an Information Governance/ Compliance Practice within the IBM software organization. His career has been focused on establishing and expanding initial markets, products and operations for early-stage software firms including Verity (purchased by HP), KVS (acquired by Symantec) and Princeton Softech (purchased by IBM) as well as senior leadership roles at Seer Technologies and Texas Instruments.

Kenneth A. Wood, P.E., Director, IBM Quantum, IBM
Kenneth Wood is the Director for IBM Quantum Public and Academic Sector. Mr. Wood provides leadership and direction to the quantum resources located in North America, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific. Under his direction, the IBM quantum team has finalized many high-profile partnerships for technology access, joint research, and partnership agreements with the likes of NQCC in Harwell, STFC in Hartree, US Air Force Research Lab, CERN, University of Tokyo, Keio University, Fraunhofer, Yonsei University, University of Copenhagen, Arizona State University, Oak Ridge and Los Alamos National Labs, and many others. Mr. Wood received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University, and holds a Professional Engineering license.
