Overview

Due to limited capacity for this workshop, all registrations are subject to final approval. Please lookout for a confirmation of registration which will be sent directly to your email. (Only participants who have received this confirmation will be able to attend the workshop)

  • As the demand for global connectivity via space-based internet grows, securing these networks against sophisticated cyber threats has become a critical priority. This workshop examines how advanced cybersecurity technologies can fortify space internet infrastructure, ensuring robust, secure, and reliable communication.

  • Participants will explore key challenges in protecting satellite communication, such as eavesdropping, spoofing, and quantum-era threats. The session will introduce innovative solutions, including end-to-end encryption, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum key distribution (QKD), showcasing their potential to safeguard data transmissions in space and terrestrial networks.

  • Real-world use cases and interactive discussions will highlight how cybersecurity advancements are driving the evolution of space internet, enhancing its resilience for applications like IoT, autonomous systems, and critical infrastructure.

Course Description & Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of cybersecurity challenges specific to space internet infrastructure.

  • Understand the principles and applications of quantum key distribution (QKD) and post-quantum cryptography.

  • Be able to identify real-world threats to satellite communication systems and corresponding mitigation strategies.

  • Learn from case studies about secure satellite communication networks.

  • Develop strategic approaches to integrating cybersecurity into space internet projects.

  • Explore the future of quantum-secure communication in the space industry.
