Overview
The course will offer candidates an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), the ethics of AI, the need for AI governance in corporate or government policies, case studies and use cases, and the work being done in this space by Singapore and international regulatory bodies. The premise: As the global conversation around ethical AI matures, there has emerged a distinct trend. There are a set of ethical values that are tightly coupled with the probabilistic nature of AI models and the impact of autonomous or augmented decision-making on humans. Thus, fairness, explainability, transparency and stakeholder communications form a core, standard set of ethical values with especial relevance for AI. This course will address all these issues.
Course Description & Learning Outcomes
This course will achieve the following objectives:
Provide a set of current and evolving definitions of the different types of AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Bias, etc.
Determine the need for strong ethics and governance in AI.
Develop efficient internal corporate governance structures and measures for AI development and deployment.
Determine the level of human involvement in AI-augmented decision-making.
Identify the operational issues of AI governance and management.
Identify stakeholder interaction and communications.
