The rise of digital health has seen significant improvements to the quality of patient care - through improved patient compliance and availability of data collection, healthcare providers are now able to provide greater personalised care, early intervention, and better at-home care for patients.
Since the introduction of digital health, IoT, and connected medical devices, cybersecurity and data privacy are becoming the forefront concerns of the digital health industry. Electronic health records of patients have been used to create fake identities, purchase medical equipment and medications, or even file false insurance claims. Accenture estimates that data breaches will cost the healthcare sector US$300 billion over the next five years.

Speakers' Profiles:
Ian Mathews, Assistant Group Chief Technology Officer, National University Health System
Ian is an Emergency Medicine Physician with the National University Health System and is the Assistant Group Chief Technology Officer for the hospital group focusing on big data in healthcare and artificial intelligence solutions for clinical problems, as well as innovation and enterprise.
He is a Stanford Biodesign Global Fellow and is also Chief Medical Officer to AEvice health, a medical device startup focusing on respiratory health, as well as a founding team member of PRIME Respi looking at device solutions for chronic lung disease.
Ian is an advisor to MedTech and healthcare startups in various fields of medicine, and different stages of development, and is a cofounder of Aardvark labs, who have developed CATALYST - Singapore's first clinician-led co-working space and center for innovation for MedTech, digital health and innovation.
Eric Tan, Associate Director, IT Risk Management & Security, Singapore IT Hub, MSD International GmbH
Eric Tan is the Associate Director for Cybersecurity Engineering in Singapore IT Hub serving the Asia Pacific region. In this role, he is the lead for the Identity & Access Management, the Data & System Protection, and Network Segmentation function. His primary focus includes enabling and leading his teams in advancing the company's cybersecurity capabilities globally, as well as directing and developing them in regional cybersecurity-related engagements, both internally or externally to the company.
Eric is CIPT-Certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Nardev Ramanathan, Global Lead Analyst, Digital Health and Wellness, Lux Research
Nardev Ramanathan is the Global Lead Analyst for the Digital Health and Wellness Program at Lux Research, a leading technology consultancy and strategic advisory firm. He speaks regularly at technology and innovation events. He most recently gave the opening presentation at JUMPstart Digital Medtech Conference organized by NTUitive in May. He was also invited as a startup coach for the European Healthtech Investment Forum in Helsinki in March to coach promising young digital health and medtech startups in the Nordic region. Prior to joining Lux, Nardev was Assistant Head of the Industrial Development Group at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore where he was the Precision Medicine and Digital Health lead. In that role, he helped develop an industry consortium to support the local biotech ecosystem for Precision Medicine related initiatives in Singapore. Nardev received his PhD in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge under the A*STAR Overseas PhD scholarship and MSc in Management of Health Industries from ESSEC Business School where he was also an ESSEC Excellence Scholarship awardee.
Ken Soh, Chief Executive Officer, Athena Dynamics, Chief Information Officer, BH Global Corporation Ltd
Mr Soh has more than 28 years of working experience in the ICT industry. Prior to joining BH Global, Mr Soh held various senior positions in public and private sectors at CxO and business leader levels with Master Planning and P&L responsibilities. In BH Global, he has spearheaded various digital transformation initiatives internally including data visualization and strengthening of the Group's ERP platform. Alongside that, Mr Soh has also initiated and driven the transformation of BH Global's IT department from a cost center to a profit center, spinning it off as a subsidiary company, Athena Dynamics. The company has since been awarded numerous projects in cyber protection of classified and critical info-infrastructures (CIIs) in both the governmental and commercial sectors. Mr Soh has been an avid industry speaker and writer. Since the inception of Athena Dynamics in mid 2014, he has contributed more than 100 thought leadership speaking and papers in numerous industry conferences, press and media. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Studies from the University of Essex (UK); and a Master of Business Administration (eMBA) from the Nanyang Business School (a Nanyang Technological University and University of California, Berkeley joint programme).
