Overview
To embark on a RPA journey, you first have to know what can and should be automated.
Designed for professionals who are keen to take a closer look at the possibility and real-world applications of RPA, this module provides a conceptual overview and insights into the technical know-how to be brought in to support the human element in the transition to a robot-filled working environment.
Course Description & Learning Outcomes
The module is based on a blended learning approach consisting of the following parts Part 1 – Online Learning (0.5 Day) (a) Digital transformation and emerging technology This section provides an introduction to global megatrends driving organisational transformation and an overview of emerging technologies causing digital disruption, e.g., Internet of Things (IoT), Data and Analytics, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence. (b) Introduction to RPA This section provides participants with an overview of RPA. They will look at the benefits, challenges and risks of RPA, define key features and how RPA fits into the wider intelligent automation technologies. Participants will explore some of the current RPA tools and capabilities, look at a basic implementation plan for RPA, learn from success stories and best practices as well as some of the top issues in failed projects. (c) Automation hotspots This section provides specific use cases and examples of where RPA can be applied relevant to the specific course functional area or sector. Participants will walk through use cases and learn from where early adopters of RPA have been successful. Part 2 – Face-to-Face Learning (2 Days) (a) Build a bot This immersive hands-on experience gives participants an opportunity to learn how to build a bot using selected RPA software and mirroring a common use case scenario. Participants will also learn common commands used in the development and where to go for support in development. At the end of the 2.5-day course, participants will be able to: - Learn practical examples of RPA within their specific back office functions or industry sector - Understand the implication of RPA to operations and the associated organisational people impacts - Learn how to harness the power of RPA, through an immersive hands-on bot building workshop
