Improving mobility is a necessity and will strongly impact the economy, environment and life. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play a major role in increasing operational efficiency, improving the quality of key public services such as transportation, and in sharing goods and information with others.
Behind many of these ICT solutions are space technologies and satellite infrastructures, like the new generation of Global Satellite Navigation Systems (GSNS) for positioning and timing services. Satellite communication a prime alternative when terrestrial solutions are not available provides an efficient way for information diffusion. Space technologies will indefinitely continue to evolve mobility solutions and services.
This event will discuss what space tech for mobility is about and its impact on our future economy.

Gilles Rabin,Director, Innovation Applications and Science, National Centre for Space Studies (CNES)
Gilles Rabin is the Director of Innovation, Applications and Science by CNES. Born in 1961, Gilles Rabin is a Doctor of Economics and a graduate of the Paris II Assas French Press Institute (IFP). In 2015-2016, he was space and innovation advisor to Thierry Mandon, the French Secretary of State for higher education and research. Prior to this, he was the director of a private strategic consultancy for businesses and local authorities, after working as an associate researcher at Grenoble University's PACTE Territories Laboratory.
Gilles Rabin began his career in 1989, as director of the transport department and deputy director of the local development department at BIPE Conseil (a CDC subsidiary), where he acquired a wealth of expertise in transport matters and worked in land-use planning. In 1996, he became deputy director of Nancy urban planning agency, in charge of the city's economic development and the Nancy-Brabois technopole.
Between 1999 and 2008, Gilles Rabin was CEO of Essonne development board, where he worked to promote businesses in collaboration with several university laboratories e.g. Gnopole, Suplec, INT, Polytechnic, and signed a partnership with the MIT. He then went on to join Greater Lyon city council in 2008 where, as executive director for economic development and land policy, he dedicated himself to developing business and innovation and to projects that enhanced the attractiveness of the region.
From 2012 to 2014, he was theadvisor to the French minister for the economy, productivity increase and digital affairs, with particular responsibility for decentralisation, innovation, middle-market companies and business creation, plus the health and transport sectors.
Dr. Bidushi Bhattacharya, Co-Founder, Astropreneurs HUB
Dr. Bidushi Bhattacharya is a rocket scientist and astropreneur with experience in spacecraft development and operations, academic administration, scientific research, and technical writing.
She is the Co-Founder of Astropreneurs HUB (astro-launch.com), Southeast Asia's first space technology incubator, and Founder & CEO of Bhattacharya Space Enterprises (bse-space.com), a Singaporean startup dedicated to space-related education and training.
Her previous experience includes over two decades with NASA as a scientist and engineer. She has analysed and synthesised technical information and played a key role in fostering communication between academic and industrial teams with varying priorities and work cultures, both within the US and overseas. NASA projects have included the Hubble Space Telescope, the Mars Rover Program, the Galileo Mission to Jupiter, the European Space Agency's Herschel Space Observatory, and others.
Dr. Bhattacharya holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in space physics from the UCLA Department of Atmospheric Sciences and a B.S. in mechanical engineering and B.A. in physics from Rutgers University.

- 25 years of experience in specification and supply of electronic hardware for satellites (components, mass memories and computers) for various space projects
- Joined the Navigation Division in 2010 and responsible for the development of a software platform dedicated to the evaluation of GNSS receiver performances in critical environments.
- Staff of Innovation, Application and Science Directorate since 2015 in charge of coordinating CNES activities in the domain of Intelligent Transport System with a special focus on Autonomous Vehicles.
Wee Wei Tat, Office of Space Technology and Industry (OSTIn), Singapore Economic Development Board
Mr Wee Wei Tat holds the dual appointment of Head, Office of Space Technology and Industry (OSTIn), and Head, Capital Goods Division, at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). In his current role, Mr Wee spearheads EDB's efforts to promote the growing satellite industry in Singapore alongside institutional partners. He also works with MNCs in the Aerospace and Control and Automation industries.
Mr Wee has previously held positions as Head of Transport Engineering Division, and Assistant Head of Safety and Security Industry Program Office. Between 2014 and 2016, Mr Wee was also seconded to Ministry of Communications and Information. Mr Wee graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Information Systems from Singapore Management University in 2007.
