Dr Steve Gluck

Steve is an independent consultant in the water and wastewater sectors. His expertise includes technology assessment and implementation, analytical chemistry, process problem solving, communications and leadership. He was employed for more than thirty years working in various R&D roles within The Dow Chemical Company until 2015 and finished his career there as one of 2 Fellows responsible for the technology development in Dow Water & Process Solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Whitworth University, a Masters Degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Idaho and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Leipzig.

Dr Steven Kloos, Partner, Burnt Island Ventures
Dr Steven Kloos

Steve Kloos is a Partner at Burnt Island Ventures and an experienced investor and company leader with a deep background in water, energy, hydrogen, chemicals & fuels, and climate. He started his career as a membrane chemist at Osmonics and was acquired into GE Water, where he first led Membrane Technology globally before being sent on a 3.5 year global assignment to start GE’s water R&D efforts in Shanghai and in Singapore. Steve’s experience in Singapore spans in multiple roles from 2007 onwards, including being the PI on a major EDB-funded project to General Electric, building and leading the GE Water Technology Centre at NUS, serving as a member of the Environmental and Water Technologies International Advisory Panel (EWT-IAP) to the Singapore government, collaborating with the PUB, and working with NUS and NTU as well as mentoring start-ups and helping ImagineH2O with their Asia accelerator.

Dr Zhao Dan, Associate Professor, NUS
Dr Zhao Dan

Dan Zhao obtained his Ph.D. degree in Inorganic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Hong-Cai Joe Zhou at Texas A&M University in 2010. After finishing his postdoctoral training at Argonne National Laboratory, he joined the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at National University of Singapore in July 2012 as an Assistant Professor, and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in July 2018. He started to serve as an Associate Editor of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research in June 2021. His research interests include advanced porous materials and hybrid membranes with applications in clean energy and environmental sustainability.

Dr Zuo Jian, Associate Professor, SIT
Dr Zuo Jian

Dr Zuo received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from National University of Singapore, where his research focused on cutting-edge membrane technologies. His expertise spans a range of areas, including membrane processes, membrane formation, hollow fiber spinning, transport mechanisms, and water treatment. He has made significant contributions to the field, inventing several membranes for applications such as pervaporation and membrane distillation. He also has extensive chemical engineering knowledge and experience in process design, unit operation, process analytical technology and system optimization. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology, Dr Zuo collaborates closely with industry partners, addressing challenges in liquid-liquid separation, wastewater treatment, desalination, and resource recovery, as well as developing membrane process for sustainable food production.

Dr Jerry Liu, General Manager, NTi Memtech Pte Ltd
Dr Jerry Liu

Dr. Jerry Liu currently holds the post of Group Deputy CEO with Leader Environmental Technologies Ltd., responsible for technical services, business development outside China, and managing the membrane business unit with its wholly owned subsidiary NTi Memtech Pte Ltd. Dr. Jerry Liu majored in environmental engineering, obtaining Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Over years of his profession, he has been assuming various managerial roles in the business, operation, asset management, engineering project and technology development. He is passionate in innovation and instrumental in technology commercialization. He has received awards for his outstanding contributions in technology development. He has published a number of papers in renowned magazines and granted more than twenty patents.

Mr. Fu Feng Jiang, CEO, 3E Memtech Pte Ltd
Mr. Fu Feng Jiang

Fu Fengjiang's leadership is exemplified by driving 3E Memtech's success in commercializing its loose nanofiltration hollow fiber membranes in 2019. Today, 3E's membranes are the world's #1 commercially available full molecular weight cutoff range seperation hollow fiber NF product, having been successfully implemented in one 10,000 m³/day municipal wastewater recycling project for a state-owned company in China. His expertise extends beyond 3E Memtech. He is also the founder of BlueOcean Memtech, a recognized brand in membrane technology consultation. He brings over 20 years of industrial experience across diverse fields like membrane manufacturing, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and aerospace. His background is further strengthened by 5 years of research in membrane science and 10 years of management experience in membrane technology consulting and manufacturing.

Mr. Larry Poon, Business Development Associate, INV Corporation Pte Ltd
Mr. Larry Poon

Prior to joining INV Corporation, Larry was a business development manager at Ascendo Pte Ltd, a security systems solution in Singapore. There, he broadened his network and accumulated experience in sales, business development and project management. Before a career in business development, Larry was a project sales engineer where he led a team in the channel distribution department.
