We invite experts from various fields to discuss the future of robotics from the technical point of view, and how the technology will address societal challenges, such as an ageing society, labour shortages, infrastructure ageing, and implementation challenges.

Opening Remarks Speaker's Profile:
Ikuya Kawasaki, President and Representative Director, Infineon Technologies Japan K.K
Mr. Kawasaki has over 40 years of experience in semiconductor and electronics industry, and was inaugurated as the president of Infineon Technologies Japan K.K. since 2018.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.

Hidehiko Yuzaki, Governer of Hiroshima Prefecture
Hidehiko Yuzaki has been the governor of Hiroshima Prefecture since 2009.
He served in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry since 1990, and founded ACCA Networks Co., Ltd. in 2000 to lead businesses as Executive Vice President & Representative Director within telecommunication domain until he was elected governor of the Hiroshima Prefecture.
Received his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Tokyo in 1990, and his Master of Business Administration from the Stanford University of Business in 1995.
Dr Takayuki Furuta, General Manager, Future Robotics Technology Center, Standing Director, Chiba Institute of Technology
From 1998 to 2003, Takayuki Furuta was the leader of the Robot Research Group, Kitano Symbiotic Systems Project, Exploratory Research for Advanced Technology Program (ERATO) at the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
From 2003 onwards, Takayuki Furuta has been the General Manager of the Future Robotics Technology Centre (fuRo) at the Chiba Institute of Technology.
In 2014, Takayuki Furata has stepped up as the Standing Director of the Chiba Institute of Technology.
In response to the disaster at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, he developed and provided a crawler robot, which turned out to be the only one capable of accessing all the floors. The robot was an integral contribution to the success of the cold shutdown mission of the national government. His accomplishments range from the nuclear disaster robot to the more familiar HallucII transformable vehicle, all of which represent his day and night commitment to redefining food, clothing, and shelter through robotics technology.
Dr Mehrdad Baghaie Yazdi, Senior Director Application Marketing and Application Management, Infineon Technologies AG
Mehrdad is currently the Head of the Application Marketing and Management Organization of ISD at Infineon Technologies. His organization is responsible for driving the future of Infineons’ Roadmaps through the lens of applications. From 2016-2021 he was the Head of the Wide Bandgap Application Unit at ON Semiconductor, his team was working on defining the next generation products, test methodologies and applications around Gallium Nitride and Silicon Carbide based power devices. Other responsibilities of his team included educating and supporting customers, as well as leading the technical business development based around these novel semiconductors. In October 2013, he joined Fairchild Semiconductors as a senior engineer for device modeling, working on the first physically scalable models for IGBTs, Diodes and WBG devices. He moved on to establish and manage the first interdisciplinary “Power Solution Center” engaged in state-of-the-art power device testing, technology development and customer support from 2014 until the merger with ON Semiconductor. Prior to that he was working at the Fraunhofer Institute for Adaptronics, developing smart sensors and actuators, while pursuing a doctoral degree in Solid State Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt after having completed his Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with a focus in Microelectronics and Photonics, at the Technical University of Vienna. He has multiple patents and over 50 publications in the field of physics and semiconductors including peer reviewed papers, invited talks and workshop tutorials.
Moderator Profile: Yuko Fukushima, Anchor, NHK World Japan TV
Yuko Fukushima has been a TV news anchor for NHK World Japan for more than 20 years. She has been presenting daily and weekly news especially on business and other events in Asia including Japan to a worldwide audience. Currently, she is the business anchor for a daily English news program NEWSROOM TOKYO on NHK World. In addition to delivering business news, she conducts interviews with business leaders, top government officials and economist.
