Michael Cheng, Lead Software Engineer, GovTech Singapore

Michael Cheng is a full stack developer with more than 10 years of experience in building dynamic websites. He is a Zend Certified Engineer/Trainer in PHP development. He currently does Ruby & Go Lang.

He runs the Singapore PHP User Group, co-founded the iOS Dev Scouts and is the organiser of PHPConf.Asia. He also runs Engineers.SG, a not-for-profit community initiative to document and archive the tech and startup scene in Singapore. His latest passion project is JuniorDevSG, a support group for junior developers in Singapore. Michael is currently a Lead Software Engineer with GovTech Singapore.

Matthias Chin, Founder and CEO, Cloudsine

Matthias Chin is a tech entrepreneur with >15 years of experience in the IT industry. He is a cloud, security and internet expert with a strong track record of architecting and building large internet and security systems for government, healthcare and fintech customers while working for Cisco Systems, ST Electronics, Pacific Internet and SCS. He is a Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) and Security Professional (CISSP, GCIH, GWAPT, GCFA)

Matthias has started various IT business units and grew them to >40 people with >$10m revenue in a 3-5 year period. He currently runs two cloud-cyber startups Cloudsine and Blockcyber and is co-lead for the AI Security Quarter of Singapore cyber community group div0. 

Jerry Chan, PowerX Cybersecurity Trainee, Cloudsine

Jerry Chan is currently a 29-year-old Career Switcher and Trainee at Cloudsine. Before embarking on the PowerX Cybersecurity Programme, he worked as a Maintenance Engineer and Project Lead for one of our local rail operators, for three years. However, the ever-increasing demand for tech-skilled people, together with the opportunities for learning and growth in this industry drew him to apply for the programme. He learned about a wide breadth of topics not just pertaining to cybersecurity (which has many areas in and of itself!), but IT as a whole, and also have the opportunity to directly apply the newly learnt skills in his partner company.
 
His partner company for the PowerX Cybersecurity Programme is Cloudsine Pte Ltd. Currently, he and a fellow PowerX Cybersecurity Trainee are working on building up and enhancing the cybersecurity services that Cloudsine is offering. This is in addition to WebOrion, a patented web defacement monitoring tool used by many entities globally, to better meet the increasing needs of the expanding IT industry.

Dr Joel Yang, Assistant Director (CET), School of InfoComm Technology, Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Joel Yang is Assistant Director in the School of InfoComm Technology at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and oversees the Continuing Education & Training initiatives in the school such as Data School, Go School, and Specialist Diplomas in Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity. Apart from this, he teaches in various areas such as Android, iOS, and Data Analytics. Prior to joining Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Joel taught at the Department of Information Systems, School of Computing at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he received his B.S. (1st Class Honors) and obtained his PhD in Information Systems. His research interests included IT-enabled service innovation, e-government, and healthcare information systems, and his work has appeared in leading academic journals and conferences.
