As a member of the communications and content team, you’ll be joining us on our mission to build Singapore’s Deep Tech economy through impactful storytelling. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from executive communications to advising startups on communications strategy. We offer ample opportunities to develop and lead your own creative projects and are always looking out for new ways of sparking discussions around highly technical topics, from advanced manufacturing to sustainability, for a wide range of audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Communications leadership - All team members function as advisors and project leads, working closely with internal stakeholders to guide communications strategy and engagements. You’ll be working with different teams, such as marketing and partnerships, on integrated marketing campaigns on a variety of activities.
- Media relationships - You will have the opportunity to identify and design media engagement initiatives, craft media materials and execute activities around emerging tech and science communication.
- Executive Communications - You will work closely with the SGInnovate leadership team to shape the corporate narratives and the organisation’s thought leadership approach, across different channels, including speaking engagements and interviews.
- Project management - You will have a large degree of control over managing and crafting communications output and assets (e.g., messaging, story banks, pitches, factsheets) for different target audiences. This can also extend to managing content development projects across a range of formats, from videos to engaging visuals for various platforms.
- Issues & crisis management - You are able to identify and assess internal and external issues that may present reputational challenges to the organisation, and develop the appropriate communications strategies in response.
Requirements:
- A degree in Marketing, New Media, Communications or a related field of study
- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in public relations, marketing communications or journalism
- Self-starter, able to oversee and manage projects independently
- Enjoys working on creative projects; piloting new communication channels and formats
- Passionate about and possess an appreciation of emerging technologies and the startup ecosystem; Past experience working with companies in the technology space would be advantageous
- Possess strong relationships with local and regional business and technology media
- A strong command of the English language; past experience writing for both tech and business audiences is crucial
- Experience in managing external agencies and partners is preferred
