SGInnovate’s ecosystem domain maps give a bird’s eye view and visual guide that highlights strategic players and contributors in emerging tech domains. With this map, players will be able to identify where partnerships need to be fostered to help accelerate innovations to market.

Globally, the alternative protein sector is evolving fast. All-time investments in the domain reached US$16 billion in the first quarter of 2024, and much of that activity is nestled in Singapore. Home to 24% of APAC’s alternative protein startups, Singapore’s pioneering regulations in this sector to support the nation’s own goals have also attracted international corporates such as Givaudan who have planted roots to conduct research and development locally in this sector.

However, understanding the different players in this nascent ecosystem — who they are, what they offer, how they fit together and what gaps exist — can be challenging.

We’ve mapped the alternative protein sector from startups in precision fermentation and other tech domains to investors and accelerators. Download our guide to Singapore’s alternative protein ecosystem below.

The map will be updated periodically.
