Data Management for Analytics

Overview

Based on Hype Cycle for Data Management, 2020 published by Gartner in July 2020, data management continues to be the central theme in the move toward digital business. The most significant effect of digital business maturity is the demand for a combined data storing and data integration style of data management.
This course is part of Graduate Certificate in Analytics Project Management.

Course Description & Learning Outcomes

This course is designed to equip data and analytics professionals with the essential skills to understand and implement data manipulation and management. They will gain practical understanding and implementation of data management for analytics, business intelligence and data science activities. Data and analytics professionals will also be able to understand the different emerging data management technologies. At the end of the course, the participants will be able to: - Construct the strategy and framework for data management - Identify and design the key components of the data ecosystem for analytics - Design and construct data / database schema - Identify and verify data sources, fields for data analytics modelling, reporting and dashboarding - Design data consolidation and usage approaches - Construct and implement Data Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) - Integrate dataset for data analytics - Evaluate and implement data quality, security and privacy for data and analytics

Recommended Prerequisites

- Participants with a work experience of 2 years or more will appreciate this course better.
