Recent times has shown rapid accelerations in companies adopting various technology-driven transformation strategies and tools. This move is widely agreed to be an urgent necessity to prevent disruption and obsoleteness to the company’s strategies and business models. The implementation and adaptation of these AI and Data systems and workflows to existing infrastructure is often a challenge, but many companies have risen up to the test and are succeeding. How do these companies adapt to the ever-changing landscape and ensure their workforce is able to stay relevant amidst the disruptions?

Charmaine Wong, Head of Section, Systems Integration, Singapore Development Center, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific

Charmaine has over 20 years of experience in Embedded Systems. She graduated from NUS Bachelors of Engineering with Honours and has contributed on different fronts on Engineering works previously at Siemens and now, Infineon Technologies. She started as a product application engineer for Microcontrollers, moving on to specification of Microcontroller products and, at one period, functionally leading the concept and application engineering teams globally for a new Microcontroller platform at Infineon. 

Charmaine is currently heading the Systems Integration team at Development Center. Her global-functioned team collaborates with HQ, particularly with Business Lines, on various fronts to enable leading-edge smart systems with Infineon products and solutions.

On the AI front, Charmaine’s team is developing AI solutions as products for the digital transformed applications. In addition, the team focuses on embedded AI for edge inference applications.
 
Charmaine is married with two children. She is into the arts and enjoys theatrical performances, a broad genre of music, and dancing. Currently, she is learning to play Taiko Drums.

Dr Meri Rosich, Chief Data Officer, Corporate, Commercial & Institutional (CCIB), Standard Chartered

Leading a team of incredibly talented data scientists, AI experts, and data engineers, Dr Meri Rosich is focused on transforming businesses with the strategic use of data.

She has had the privilege of leading global teams for great organizations such as Visa, Amex, Bertelsmann, Samsung, and Docomo; living in 6 countries; in NY, London, Barcelona; and for the past 15 years in Asia; in HK, Tokyo, and Singapore.

Dr Rosich is a lifelong learner, educated on Innovation with a PhD. Summa cum Laude in Tech Strategy VR, a European Doctorate Mention from the University of Barcelona; and an MBA from the London Business School. She has had great professors, and she spends a few weekends every year giving back by teaching executive MBAs as an adjunct professor of Global Management and Data Strategy.

Digital transformation needs intersectionality of domains, and she has taken certificates such as Systems Dynamics from MIT, Entrepreneurship from Deusto University and is currently learning about Climate Change from Yale because data can drive sustainability helping assess the impact of extreme weather on business.

Making things happen requires an entrepreneurial mindset, and over the years she has balanced corporate life with launching products in startups. She enjoys sharing those experiences at industry events to help build the ecosystem and mentoring women to lift the next generation of tech leaders.

Recent recognitions include "100 Women in Tech" by SG Computer Society and IMDA Gov; "30 People Who Are Changing The World" by London Business Review magazine, and "Most promising Female Developer" award at SFO Conference.

Volunteering is important to her because many people helped her in her journey and she supports inclusive leadership and data literacy initiatives. Over the years, she has served on the advisory board of the Data Literacy Project, as Fintech mentor for UNDP, Ambassador for the UN Women STEM program, board member of the United Nations Association of Singapore. Co-founded the Female Founders think-tank, the Women Data Leaders network, and serve as a committee member of SG Women in Tech.


Sunita Kannan, Data & AI Solutions Lead, APJ, Microsoft Corporation

Sunita is currently the Data & AI Solutions Lead in APJ at Microsoft. She has a wealth of experience in managing & delivering Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence work for some of the largest Fortune 500 companies across a variety of industries.

Prior to Microsoft, Sunita was leading the space of Data, Analytics and AI across a number of leading consulting firms, with the most recent being Accenture in which she was the AI Advisory and Responsible AI Lead for APAC.

Before consulting, Sunita was a PhD Quantum Physics student at the University of Colorado (Boulder). She holds a Master of Science in Quantum Physics and a Bachelors in Mathematics and Physics (distinction and honours) from Wellesley College (MA, USA).

Sunita’s research and interpersonal skills have helped her achieve a solid balance between EQ and IQ. With this, Sunita constantly aims to transcend the norm and deliver real and immersive experiences for her clients.

Avid data and diversity advocate, Jana headed teams and country operations at Estee Lauder, Sybase, Sas and Socialbakers.
 
In 2015 she left the corporate career to start a data consultancy, soon followed by a Singapore based Customer Data Platform (CDP) tech start-up Meiro where she is the CEO. At the same time, Jana co-founded the non-profit movement She Loves Data.
 
Since 2016 over 13,000 women have attended 150+ free data & tech workshops, certification programs and webinars. She Loves Data has active chapters in 16 countries on 4 continents.
 
She Loves Data received the 2019 “Diversity Initiative Award in Asia” by Women in IT.
 
In 2008 & 2009 Jana was named one of the “Top 25 business women” in the Czech Republic and she is featured on the inaugural 2020 “Singapore 100 Women in Tech” list.
 
Jana is a volunteering mentor of a non-profit mentoring project for future female leaders My Odyssey. As someone with passion for uncharted territories Jana circumnavigated the world on a 38ft sailboat between 2003-2005.
